Later on Sept. 14th

Everything was settling down finally. It was around 10 pm when a nurse came in to check on Daniel and I and noted Daniel's color was not quite right. She wanted to take him to the nursery to check him over to be sure all was alright. Well, his O2 sats were only in the mid 80's (should be in the high 90's) and they wanted to keep him in the nursery and most likely move him into the NICU for tests and close observation.
I was not getting around too well yet, but daddy took over and kept a close eye on Daniel. They got him all looked up to monitors and got a bed in the NICU room for him on Sept. 15th. He had on oxygen, then needed the assistance of a CPAP machine also. The first few days were such a blur for everyone. Once I was discharged we moved into his room in th NICU. It was so hard to see him looked up to all the machines and hear his monitors go off at all hours of the day and night when his O2 sats would drop too low.
This was his little bed for the first 2 weeks of his beautiful life.

Our extended hosptial stay finally ended on Oct. 3rd, 2006. Daniel had finally got 5 days without his O2 levels dropping too low. It was a scary day, but a happy day as well.
