A Binky Story.

We have friends here in town who recently had their first baby. Daniel has gotten to know these friends a bit in the past few months. A few weeks before their baby was due I asked Daniel if he thought he would be ready to part with his last binky and be a nice boy and give it to the new baby when it arrives. At that time he wasn't so sure about that idea.
Today after his nap I asked him if he thought he could give his binky to Baby Michael and he said "yeah". This evening we took the binky and washed it up in the sink and then took it and walked over to our friends house to give it to Baby Michael. Daniel was in a great mood and it didn't even seem to phase him. I was such a proud mommy as we were walking there holding hands and carrying the last binky.

Now we are at Baby Michaels's house knocking on the door.

Daniel is not so sure about giving the binky to Baby Michael without any help. He asked mommy to help him put it on his lap.

He sure looks like a proud boy. Note: Binky is now on Baby Michael's lap in the swing.

A few seconds after the exchange Daniel wanted to play with the doggies. I had quite the mommy moment. Daddy was at home with Sammy and is so proud of Daniel also. We know we might have some sleepless nights coming up, but we both think he will do well.

Also, I made sure to tell my friend that she could dispose of the binky as soon as we left since it wasn't in the best shape. Daniel has had the last binky a very long time. Both myself and Dusty found that thing quite gross and couldn't understand how he could still want to put it into his mouth.

Our Daniel is growing up.
