Just a note on some new things at our house.
* This past weekend we repaired cracks, textured, primed and painted the walls in Daniel's room. He didn't like the cracks in his walls at all. They are all gone now though (thanks to daddy and his talents). Then Dusty decided it would be a good idea to remove the carpet from his room since it wasn't glued down. That was just gross! The carpet pad had turned to a fine yellow dust. Glad we got that out of there. The hardwood floors are not the best, but much better then that nasty carpet. Also Daniel and Sammy both love that the cars, trucks, tractors and trains all roll much better now.
* Sammy has started to talk a lot more this past month. We were wondering if he was every going to start to talk. He is putting two words together now at times like "Elmo book" or "daddy home" and he even tosses out a "help mommy please" sometimes. He went from having only about 40 recognizable words 2 months ago to having at least 75 words now and putting some together. We are happy his verbal skills are growing. We know he has alot to say and can't wait to hear it all.
* Daddy is insulating and siding his work shop in the back yard. The boys always want to get right in there and help. We will no longer have a shop that looks like a small red barn. It will be sided a nice neutral color and won't stand out like a sore thumb.
* I am working on getting some flowers and veggies ready to plant outside. I am going to try to start them indoors this year and see how they do. I do not have a green thumb at all and once things really get growing they sort of creep me out. I try my hardest to be brave around the creepy plants so the boys don't get afraid of them at all. Someone needs to pick all the veggies for me if daddy isn't around. hahaha
This year we are going to try to grow zucchini and peas again since they both did well last year and Daniel loved eating the peas right out of the pod. We are also going to try some carrots so the boys can learn about how some veggies grow underground too. For flowers we have some Forget-me-not growing inside in a small pot that Sammy got for his birthday. Just a week or so ago we also planted some Shamrocks. The boys want to see how much the plants have grown every morning. Outside we will be planting some sunflowers that Sammy picked out and a few other flowers for color around the house. Wish me luck.
* Some other big family news is that Aunt Angie and Uncle Curt have started building their new home. The broke ground this week. On my side of the family my little brother Josh and his wife are scheduled to have their twin girls this coming Tuesday if they don't try to come on their own before then.
This is going to be a fun spring/summer.
That is the update from our house. More pictures to come as always. Thanks for visiting our blog.
